Om purnmadh purnmidam purnat purnmudchyate purnyasa purnamaday purnmevavashisyate
Concerning Brahma, second Pada (stanza 4-8) of Ishopanishad emphasizes several teachings:
1. Brahaman though immobile and changeless, is described as “faster than the mind” and “superseding others who are running” because it is pre-existent everywhere, or in other words omnipresent and all pervading.
2. The Brahaman cannot be known by the senses because the senses are limited and can acquire knowledge of the limited alone and not of the Infinite.
3. Bramana is the soul of all. The whole world is living on its life giving force.
4. That Brahman gives mobility to all, but it is never caught in motion. Whatever the objects in the world are in motion derive their mobility from the power and brilliance of Brahman. Brahman the centre on which everything else moves is itself not in motion. Through Brahman’s will acting in casual sphere, both the subtle and gross, both energy and grosser form of energy called matter, are moved.
5. Brahman is the nearest and farthest. He is inside as well as outside. He is in every object and in every place. Wise men see Him inside themselves; for them he is very near. Other due to ignorance, regard Him to be far away.
6. The seeker who see Brahman in all things and all objects , creature, and the universe in Brahman is free from attachment , hatred and jealousy. He is filled with universal love or the love of the God. Such a man treats everybody as the temple of God and loves all , with no aversion for anyone. Here then is fountainhead of universal brotherhood.
Indeed, energy is a big mystery!
It is hard to know and understand energy, as it is illusive in nature, it must be realized according to Shanti mantra. For the ultimate energy shall not be measured and described by man.... It is not underling. His limited sense perception will delude him if anyone attempts to measure it. Einstein will be disappointed to see that this is not governed by his rhyme equation E= MC2 that deals with mass energy transformations. Equally, this energy cannot always be conserved at the command of Helmholtz, Robert Mayer, Joule, or Carnot. Contrary to their law, this energy creates the world from ‘nothing’. Zero energy also cannot be discontinuous on the suggestion of Max Plank and does not change into entropy to satisfy Clausius. Zero energy resembles space-time singularity of a black hole where the laws of physics discovered by great mental giants of science cease to apply.
Who has seen the Energy?
Neither you nor I.
Who has known the Energy?
Neither you nor I.
When the perpetual motion wheel moves,
Energy is born from nothingness,
From potential, it manifests in various diverse forms
To energize the world
The sunrise and sunset and beauty of moon,
Starry nights, colorful clouds,
Beautiful colors and butterflies and peacock,
Sweetness in fruits and beauty in flowers
and pleasant phenomena and experience of nature,
are nothing but different forms of energy.
When music of parts harmonize into whole,
The energy is passing through,
Who has seen the energy?
Neither you nor I.
Energy unveils its mask,
When perpetual motion performs its task,
It can lift mountains to sky,
And drain the oceans,
Awaken the dead,
Its enormous power denies nothing,
The energy is born from nothingness
Energy is Brihma
Perpetual motion is Maya
This is essence of all sermons,
The energy is passing by.
Who has seen the energy?
Absorption in the study of energy is apt to unite one to the spiritual. Perpetual motion is the best experiment to analyze and understand energy. Experiments and analysis with perpetual motion has convinced Ramananda to believe in universal energy as one, and the ultimate reality. He says: “To speak of Energy is impossible. For corporeal cannot express the incorporeal...That which has not any body nor appearance, nor form, nor matter, cannot be apprehended by sense. This is essence of Vedanta, I understand that energy is impossible to define. Energy- It is and it is not”
“Universal Energy ZERO that contains all, and which is all, which put into motion the spirit and the world, all that nature comprises. It is that which is not made of matter, nor in any body, which has neither colour nor form, which changes not nor is transmitted but which always is.” says Ramananda. In the manifold unity of universal life, the innumerable individualities and objects around them distinguished by their variations, are nevertheless, united in such a manner that the whole is one, and that everything proceeds from Unity.” Everything is relative in the Universe but Zero is beyond relativity. Everything is an illusion in phenomenal world. However, for time being, the experience of any plane is an actuality for the percipient being, whose consciousness is on that plane; though the said experience, regarded from the purely metaphysical standpoint, may be conceived to have no objective reality. For physicists and materialists gravity, heat, Light, Sound, Electricity, magnetism, have no objective being, and they are said to exist merely as “modes of motion,” “sensations and affections of matter”. Nevertheless, from Vedantist point of view they all are manifestations of “Brihma” and have “Prana”of their own. Any wise combination of them can create a “whole” which is source of life and inexhaustible energy.” This is quite consistent with the Vedantic teaching.
Schrodinger wrote, “…insight is not new... From the early great Upanishads the recognition [Atman = Brahman] (the personal self equals the omnipresent, all-comprehending eternal self) was in Indian thought considered, far from being blasphemous, to represent the quintessence of deepest insight into the happenings of the world. The striving of all the scholars of Vedanta was, after having learnt to pronounce with their lips, really to assimilate in their minds this grandest of all thoughts.''
